Moving day

Moving day was Friday.  I have to day it was pretty stressful to that point.  In the days prior, we packed everynight till about 1 or 2am.  I didn’t want the movers touching any of my electronics, so I put everything into their original boxes.

We’re using Allied movers, paid for by Diana’s company.  The service was quite good.  5 movers came at 8am on Friday morning and packed everything in the house by 5pm.  They also picked up their trash and took some of the extra trash that we had.  I still had more trash, so I called the 1-800-GOT-JUNK guys to come in.  That was a little bit expensive, but they did come on demand.  I’d probably do more research next time.  GOT JUNK only calculates pricing by the amount of the truck that you use.  I broke down all my cardboard boxes in the house, and I still used 1/4 of a truck, which is $250.

Allied organized everything quite well.  They inventoried each box, wrote a CP (“carrier pack”) on each box, and also the room which the box was packed in.  We had some items AIR shipped to Japan, so they packed those first, so they packed those first.  Apparently some of those guys can’t spell very well.

And, somehow I guess we packed “Loshoins”.  I’ll assume that we meant “Lotions”

Moving house plants on Wed night to Jim’s.  Thanks Jim for taking care of our 10 plants!
