Mickey D’s McPork and Ebi Filet-O

I wasn’t very impressed by the highly advertised double Quarter Pounder at McDonalds’s in Japan.

So, this week, I decided to try the McPork and Ebi Filet-O.

The McPork was a patty style pork sandwich with a soy-based teriyaki-style sauce.  It wasn’t as sweet as normal teriyaki.  The sandwich was just ok.  It is, however, well priced at 120 yen.

“Ebi” means shrimp in Japanese.  If you’re a big sushi person, you’d know the term from ordering ebi nigiri.  I’m not sure why the Fillet-o-fish isn’t on the menu.  Maybe it’s because Japanese can tell that the fried fish fillet is blasphemy to good fresh fish?  or can Japanese people tell that the Fillet-o-fish is garbage?

Anyhow, a shrimp fillet sounds much better.  And it’s not bad!
