Ninja

Another friend of mine had mentioned a restaurant by the name of Ninja and Rita’s friend in Tokyo had also mentioned it so we decided to try it out. Apparently, it’s a “theme” restaurant. I don’t want to ruin the fun if anyone ends up going but let’s just say you have to go through “ninja training” to get to your table and the place it kind of like a maze! There’s a magician wandering around the place and he’ll stop by and entertain you for a bit. The food is decent, some dishes are quite good, Japanese with some Western influences. Did you know what fried burdock is? Burdock is a root, but the fried method was quite interesting and tasted like a potato chip.

One of the dishes we had was a shredded salad that came out looking like a small cake but all you had to do was dig a little deeper. We also had a yummy soup of pork and Japanese greens cooked via hot stones! That was quite interesting and the soup was really tasty.

We had another trick dish of blackened cod and the icy bonsai for dessert. Underneath the “grass” were the three ice cream flavors (milk, sesame and green tea).

nice job with the high ISO pics in the dim lighting! looks like you are getting used to the 5D2!
Thanks. The camera has better noise reduction for ISO3200 than the 40D. Most of the pics are ISO3200. It’s hard to judge with a web posting size as it will almost always look better in that 480×480 post size. Most of the pics were shot with my 35mm f/1.4 lens @ 1.4. So I am cheating a bit. Although it’s not a fast 50mm for this full frame camera, I’m still loving that lens.
