Costco with Doug Jei and Juri
I’ve gotten quote a few comments on the Costco post last time. So, I’d like to say that we finally went to Costco again. Our good friend Doug (or Dougu in Japanese speak, ドーグ) was able to get his boss to lend him his car for a Costco run. It was actually quite an adventure since we’ve never been driving around Tokyo in a car that wasn’t a taxi.
Diana and I convinced Doug that he had to try the bulgogi bake, and we suceeded. Jason (or Jei) saw that we were chow’n it down and he had to take a part in it too. Good stuff ne?
Here’s a pic of how we fit 3 car loads of stuff into a single Nissan Cube3 (same as the Scion Xb).

It’s a bit sad to say, but Costco really made us miss American food. The pizza and hotdog never tasted so good. Yea, it’s been a while. So, to commemorate the day, Diana and I bought our USDA ribeye and made some steaks that night. Doug was also treated for this dinner. And, we had some real beer (Cooper’s pale ale, Australian import from Costco) to pair with the steak.
Lastly, it was really weird driving through Tokyo in a car. Since there’s a highly efficient transportation system, you never learn the roads and such. But, Tokyo is actually quite small. It’s just the transit time and the extra subway stops that make Tokyo seem large.

Hehe, you guys are too funny! I miss Japanese food! I’m sad I didn’t get to eat more sushi, fish is sooooo good there!
