Birthday dinner at Esaki

Henry took me to Esaki in Jingumae for my birthday dinner. It was a two star Michelin restaurant for pretty much the best deal you can get in Japan. We had an 8 course Japanese dinner in a modern minimalistic setting.

The service was great – polite, professional and nice. The chef concentrated on seafood and extra fresh organic veggies. We had an appetizer of clam risotto, miso yogurt dressed veggies and marinated octopus. We then had egg custard, sashimi, fish with fresh baby veggies, fresh whole fish in broth, steamed baby corn in husk, marinated sashimi, miso soup and dessert.

All very yummy! At the end of the meal, the chef came out to bid us farewell and we took a picture with him.
