Hanami in Ueno Park

It’s hanami (花見) time.  I headed out with some friends for the first week of cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo.  If you’re crazy for sakura, then you would want to check out any sakura zensen (桜前線), or sakura forecasts, for the up to date details of which week to view sakura (桜).

Ueno park is a popular place in Tokyo to view hanami.  The organization was very good.  Most of the places for hanami parties are roped off and tarps were reserved.  There was a good deal of alcohol being sold and plenty of orderly and funny conduct.  So on to the first pictures of this year!
